The base bike is pretty good to start with, but with several, subtle
styling errors.
The eff-too Café Racer is how we think the bike should look!
At first glance, it's not always obvious how much work has gone into
perfecting the base bike to produce the eff-too model, and so here's
what we do:
Starting at the front, we strip the forks, pre-load the spring, add
the correct damping oil, change the tyre to a German sports tyre, and
fit a braided steel brake pipe and sintered pads.
Moving on the engine, we de-cat the exhaust, wrap & paint the front
pipe, add our reverse cone silencer after a re-baffle, fit a blanking
plate to the SAS port, re-jet the carb, swap to NGK cap and plug, and
set the engine up perfectly. We also drain the original factory oil
and replace this with a quality semi-synthetic.
At the rear wheel and drive, we fit higher overall gearing to reduce
revs, add a gold, low friction chain, and fit a slightly over-size German
sports tyre to complement the front tyre. The rear suspension is changed
to our enclosed retro-shock, with spring rates that suit the bike well.
Finally, the styling is tidied up by removing the rear mudguard, light,
handle bars and mirrors, and replacing these with our own items that
we feel compliment the rest of the bike.
The overall effect is better handling, awesome sound, willingness to
rev, and much cleaner, more focused styling.
